In many adaptations, The Time Machine's unnamed time-traveler is H.G. It's easier to adapt… and thus vastly stronger as an influence across the genre. The Invisible Man is a 1897 novella of 150 pages and is certainly one of his better known sci-fi works. (Herbert George Wells), 1866–1946, English author. It seems rather fitting that Wells, the father of science fiction, would be among the first to have his writings digitally recorded and distributed. Hopefully I've got something of interest to say!! Wells himself, which has led to other works using the real-life Wells as a time-travelling character. Wells work, whereas many of his other novels are now somewhat obscure. I like seeing heroes defeat the villain and save the day. Wells' works are ripe for illustration and all the posters here do not disappoint in the least. This post contains spoilers for War of the Worlds (the original HG Wells book and the more recent movie adaptation starring Tom Cruise) I like heroes. Because of this, I suspect more people have used H.G. Wells' work as a basis than Verne's. Suffice to say I read voraciously, especially on military and American history, but also the 'classics' like War and Peace, Gone with the Wind, The Count of Monte Cristo etc.
